Afternoon thermal winds tend to pick up around 3pm as the surrounding hills heat unevenly, which is why most sailing tours and private charters cluster their departures between 3 and 5pm — timed to catch both wind and light.
Where to watch from
Our dock faces almost due west across one of the widest arms of the reservoir, which means the last hour of light comes in low and directly across the water — the same light that gave the town's zócalos their reputation for looking best in photographs taken at golden hour.

If a sunset table matters to you, ask for a dock-side seat when you reserve and mention the date — we hold a handful specifically for the last service slot each evening, roughly 5:30 to 6:30pm depending on the season.
